How to Export A Document in Word Pigeon
Once your WordPress site is set up in Word Pigeon, you’ll be ready to export your first document. We’ve made the process as easy as possible – ease is what we’re all about – but if this is your first time here’s a look at the process step by step.
To get started, ensure that the document you want to create a post from is stored in the Google Drive folder Word Pigeon created. If you need link a folder with Word Pigeon please see our tutorial on adding folders to word pigeon
Your document can include images, links and more, it will all transfer to WordPress seamlessly via Word Pigeon.
Log into Word Pigeon with your Google account.
Navigate to the Google Docs tab and you’ll see your article(s) ready for export to your chosen WordPress site:
If you like, you can view the document to ensure that you added the correct one to the file.
Once you are sure you have the right document, all that remains is to click the export button. When you do you will be presented with a few more options.
You have the option to choose to publish your article as a page or a post, and whether you would like your article to remain in draft so that you can make extra final tweaks – complete your Yoast boxes for example – or if you would prefer to have Word Pigeon publish it for you (great if you are in a real rush.)
Strip excess formatting – this will strip out some of the styles that are generated by Google Docs when the document is exported such as line-height, padding, etc… we have found without stripping these styles out, the lines can look a bit close together, sometimes it might be better to rely on your wordpress theme.
As soon as you click export your article will be transferred to your WordPress site. Like magic.
You can then follow the link (if you decided to publish immediately) or head to your blog to check that everything transferred as expected.
It really is that easy to add your articles to your WordPress blog directly from Google Docs using Word Pigeon. But if you do run into trouble, you can always reach out to us – see the little box in the corner of the screen? – and we’ll be happy to help.
